ABOUT THIS "MY WONDERCUBE" SHAPES SET...
MADE IN: Sri Lanka
ORGANIC COTTON FIBRES GROWN IN: India and Pakistan
OUTER MATERIAL: 100% certified organic cotton and the finished fabrics are also Oeko-Tex certified.
FILLING: The squares are made from two layers of 100% organic cotton and contain no fillings. The cube itself is hollow to allow space for the organic cotton sets of squares to fit inside, but the inner and outer organic cotton fabrics of the cube’s wall contain a wadding of very soft 100% recycled PET fleece. This is a type of polyester made from recycled plastic bottles). The smooth fibres of polyester generally tend to be dust mite deterrent and, in turn, hypoallergenic.
WHITENING, DYEING, FINISHING: All whitening, reactive dyeing and finishing is carried out prior to organic certification so all of these processes meet organic standards and are included within the organic certification. Non-toxic ink is used for all printed features on the cube and the filling squares.
The reactive dyes are so-named for their low environmental impact and the way in which they react very effectively with the fabric, minimising pollution and eliminating the need for other further processes, such as the use of colour-fasting agents. The finished cotton fabrics are also covered by the Oeko-Tex 100 certification.
MANUFACTURE ETHICS: My Wonder’s toys are manufactured with guarantees of ethical and environmentally-friendly production. The factory where these toys are made doesn't employ child labour, pays workers above the minimum wage, prohibits discrimination and ensures working conditions are clean and safe. It has won an award from Sri Lanka's Chamber of Industry for industrial excellence, including how workers were treated and compliance with their human rights. Regular audits ensure these standards are maintained.
