Ideally shaped for little hands that are just learning to grip
Gender-neutral colours, making it an ideal gift for a baby that hasn't arrived yet
Ribbon colour may vary slightly, between charcoal grey and a shade of brown
Suitable from birth
Approximate size: 13cm long, from head to base
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Remove ribbons and bows first and wash separately. It's warm hand-washable, but unsuitable for the tumble dryer. When wet, the cellulose fibre will make this puppy feel heavy and stiff. Don’t worry though, this is normal and it will soften as it dries. Place it somewhere out of direct heat or sunlight to dry. Even though your little one probably can’t wait to be reunited with his or her organic friend, please do ensure Paws is thoroughly dry first.
ABOUT THIS MAUD N LIL PUPPY ROUND RATTLE..
MADE IN: China
ORGANIC COTTON FIBRES GROWN IN: China
OUTER MATERIAL: Certified 100% organic cotton velour. Maud 'N' Lil’s organic cotton toys are inspected and certified by GOTS International. Additionally, they’re Oeko-Tex 100 certified.
Non-organic cotton is used for the puppy’s ribbon and for the thread used for the embroidered features such as the nose and eyes.
FILLING: 100% PLA corn filling. This is a synthetic fibre that’s derived from corn starch. It’s made by extracting the starch and turning it into a sugar which is then fermented in a similar way to making yoghurt. This creates lactic acid which in turn produces a molecule called lactide. Water is then removed, causing a crystallizing effect and PLA is created. It performs well after repeated washing.
WHITENING/DYEING/FINISHING: The fabrics are dyed or hydrogen peroxide bleached (with water as the only by-product of the latter) in a dye mill that complies with Oeko-Tex 100’s European standards. The dyes are direct dyes, using only low salt to fix the colour to the fibre. There are no further added chemicals or chemical processes. Maud 'N' Lil also tests for toxicology with SGS independently, as a second layer of assurance.
MANUFACTURE ETHICS: Maud 'N' Lil products are all manufactured in facilities that are independently audited and certified by ICTI, Intertek or equivalent inspecting body. This means that the factories treat and pay their staff fairly, prohibit child labour, provide healthy and safe conditions for workers and pay proper overtime. Maud 'N' Lil’s owners are passionate about environmental issues and using sustainable textiles but equally, they also believe that there’s little point in saving the environment if you aren’t treating people fairly.
