Organic cotton fibres grown in: China

Outer material: The outer fabric of the bear and the top layer of the Snuggle Buddy's, which comes into contact with skin, is a velvety cotton velour made from certified 100% organic cotton. This fabric does have a polyester backing but this is not in any way exposed and can't come into contact with skin from the outside of the toy, even with the closest of cuddling. The composition of the velour is therefore stated as 76% cotton and 24% polyester, but please note that the polyester element does relate ONLY to the unreachable backing material.  The Hug Me Bear contains polyester beads in the lower part of its torso, to provide weight.  The underside layer of the Snuggle Buddy is soft organic cotton jersey.

The cotton crop is organically certified (OCIA International Organic certification, confirming fibres are grown to US National Organic Programs standard). In addition, the cotton fabric carries Öko-Tex 100 certification. What's Öko-Tex 100?
