Ethical working conditions: This Charlie Bears range of baby safe organic toys is manufactured with guarantees of ethical and environmentally-friendly production. The factory where these toys are made doesn't employ child labour and pays workers above the minimum wage. Regular audits ensure these standards are maintained.
Organic cotton fibres grown in: Sri Lanka and India
Outer material: The main tufted outer fabric is made with certified 100% organic cotton fleece (with Organic Exchange certification and are Control Union certified to GOTS standard). This organic toy also carries Öko-tex 100 certification. What's Öko-Tex 100?
Filling: This cuddly teddy bear has a soft padded filling of 100% PET fleece (eco-friendly 100% recycled polyester fibres) which is hypoallergenic and dustmite deterrent.
Whitening/dyeing/finishing: All dyeing is done using non-toxic low impact dyes, tested to Öko-tex 100 standard. All dyes used on the organic fabrics have been tested and registered with the Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Organic Pigments Manufacturers (ETAD). Through the testing of these dyes, ETAD's goal is to minmise any possible adverse impact of organic colourants on health and the environment. Low impact dyes means that they have a low environmental impact - they react very effectively with the fabric, eliminating the need for colour fixing agents.
